Well only 4 weeks now until the Olympic games race. The last couple of weeks have been very hard with an increased intensity in my training. Training has been going very well. Today is a day off and on Sunday I will be racing the Boulder Peak triathlon. I even have to race my brother in this one. Although, the race will only give me an indication of my fitness as its a non-drafting race, alot different compared to the Olympic drafting race. I am looking forward to Monday when I head off to France to the Tri NZ base camp in France. It will mean a change of scenery and a change in my training. I am looking forward to doing some speed work at sea level. Training at altitude has been hard work. I will continue the altitude work using an altitude simulator.
I have put up some photos of Lucas, missing him lots as well as Tammy. Not long until I'm home again. I have been very homesick the last couple of weeks.
So my plans for the weeks up until the Olympics: I will be in France until the 1st of August, then I will fly to Germany and do a sprint race on the 2nd (Bundesliga), then the 3rd I will fly to Korea where I will be based until the 15th of August. Then the big one the Olympic games race will be on the 19th of August.
It was great news to hear that Tammy and her Mum won the J&J competition to take an athletes family to the Olympics. It will be wonderful having Tammy there to support me.
