Kestrel Bicycles announced today that it has signed with the TOSHIBA-Santo presented by Herbalife Professional Cycling Team as the Official Handlebar Supplier for the 2008 season. Team bikes will be equipped with Kestrel EMS PRO SL Handlebars.
“We want to promote Kestrel as not just a bicycle company, but also a high-end parts company that makes carbon handlebars, seat posts, forks, and more,” stated Steven Harad, Kestrel Brand Manager.
“TOSHIBA-Santo presented by Herbalife Professional Cycling Team wants to provide its athletes with the best bars on the market,” said Ravi Rajcoomar, Team Manager. “It’s important that our riders have the best products, and Kestrel’s handlebars have proven to be the best.”
Kestrel has also signed professional triathlete Pip Taylor. Taylor is the first triathlete to be signed by Kestrel. She excels in both long course and short course triathlons and will be racing the new Kestrel Airfoil Pro for longer races and the Kestrel RT-800 on the short courses. Taylor begins racing the 2008 season in Miami and will race both in the USA and Australia, where she resides during the off-season.
“I’m really excited to ride for Kestrel this year,” said Pip, “with ASI purchasing the brand and giving the brand new direction, I think I will be racing Kestrels for many years.”
Pip’s bike will be outfitted with official Team Kestrel Sponsors: SRAM Red drive train and brakes; Zipp Wheels; Profile TT bars, brake levers, stem and post; and a Wipperman chain. Additional Team Kestrel Partners include: Vittoria tires, San Marco saddle, Pactimo clothing and Xpedo pedals. Kestrel team cycling jerseys, shorts, and triathlon kits will be available for sale.
